The Pacific Islands Forum Working Group will commence a scoping study on July 30th to determine the assistance required by the interim government in Fiji to hold general elections.

The Working Group met with the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum this morning in Suva and agreed on the consultations to undertake the scoping mission.

The Mission would determine the resources required to meet the election timetable set by the Independent Technical Assessment of the elections timetable for Fiji.

The Group also discussed with the Interim Attorney General recent law and justice issues.

The group will meet again on August 2nd.
