Students urged to attend first day of school
Most students are excited about the prospect of returning to school and here's their advice to their fellow students.
Deenbandhu Primary School Head teacher Kajal Umrao said all students have enrolled for the new school year adding they are hoping that all the students are ready to do their part.
Ratu Kadavulevu School Principal Master Seru Tabakece said the first year in high school may be a tough year for some, urging the new students to ensure they turn up as this will be the first year of high school that will help define them.
Tabakece said at the moment enrolment will continue throughout the week.
Stella Marist Primary School Head teacher Master Dan Burese said they are all set to go for today.
Swami Vivekananda College Principal Mahendra Singh said teachers and students have prepared for a good start to the new school year.
Meanwhile, Police Assistant spokesperson Sargent Suliano Tevita is calling on parents and guardians to please take your children to school for the first day of school.
Suliano said Police will also monitor the school bus drivers and advises to take precaution when children and passengers are travelling in buses.
