This has been stressed by the Education Minister, Filipe Bole.
Bole said that from the Tuition Fee Grants that is given, schools should use 10% for classroom furniture, school and office equipment, another 10% is to be used for school library books and 10% more should be used for purchasing computers, connection of internet or any improvement of Information Communication Technology in schools.
Bole added that another 5% should be used on PEMAC equipment, which is the purchase of musical and sports equipment and another 5% for the purchase of vocational equipment or upgrading of vocational facilities for schools that have vocational classes.
The Minister said the rest of the grant is to be spent on operational costs.
The Ministry has also stressed that school levies should be used to pay for computer, building, sports, library, development, cadet and admission fees.
Schools should also note that any increase in levies or fees should be approved by the Permanent Secretary of Education.
