Agriculture is not confined to the fields but also to the classrooms and can help the economy.
This is the sentiment of the Chief Executive of Crest Chicken Shaun Jolls who said the highlight of the show was when the students showed up and were taking down notes.
The four days Agriculture show in Suva which came to an end last night, saw the students eyes opened to what agriculture can do in terms of helping them in the future as they saw firsthand the livestock and local produce, including fruits and vegetables.
Jolls said everyone made a huge effort to provide an informative show to achieve its objectives especially to the many students who were provided assistance.
Meanwhile chief guest and Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama also said that it is time that everyone took a notice of the potential of the Agriculture industry.
Last night at the Agriculture Sow Awards ceremony, the main Awards namely the Young Farmer of the Year was presented to 28 year old Leonard Ashley Haynes a beef farmer of Savusavu and the Crest Farmer of the Year Award was given to 30 year old Gary Tarte of Vuna of Taveuni.
