A total of 125 secondary school children have been put through the National Substance Abuse training.

Interim Minister of Education Filipe Bole initiated this after reports young people were involved in drugs as a result of being pressured by their peers.

Bole said they focused mostly on the Central Division as a starting ground for the programme with a total of 7 schools taking part.

He added so far the program has been successful.

Meanwhile, police added that with the recent trend in drug use, the number of drug related cases are not expected to decrease.

Assistant Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said that though schoolchildren are going through a lot of training, the overall national figures are not looking good.
