Police have questioned and released a 17 year Suva student who was taken in for questioning in relation to a stabbing incident last Friday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the boy has been released as investigations continue.

It is alleged that the student stabbed another student with a compass at the Suva Bus Stand last Friday.

Meanwhile, five men charged with murder, robbery with violence and breaking and larceny are expected to appear in court this afternoon.

The five are charged for the alleged murder of 49 year old security officer Sheik Mohammad Hassan of Savusavu, who was providing security at a sawmill compound.
 
In another case, police are still questioning a 37 year old father who allegedly raped his 14 year old daughter and indecently assaulted his 14 year old niece.

The matter was reported by the niece to a relative who then took it to the police.

The daughter also reported the matter to police that she was raped by her father.
