A Class one student of Taveuni is in critical condition after he was hit by a twin cab yesterday afternoon.
The 6 year old was crossing the road when he was hit by the twin cab driven by a 48 year old woman.
He sustained serious head injuries. Police are questioning the woman.
Meanwhile, the Land Transport Authority is urging drivers not take advantage of the fact that our officers are not out at night.
Media Liaison Officer Ratu Eroni Volavola as many drivers often take advantage of the fact that they do not have officers out on the roads and so disregard road rules.
Volavola said they do not have enough officers to carry out the checks at night, and is urging drivers to take into consideration the fact that their carelessness could pose a threat to others.
