Student given another chance
Suva Magistrate Ajmal Julab Khan highlighted that Imran Wazim Khan stole an ATM card belonging to his grandfather Rodney Ackraman and withdrew $7500 from his account between the 12th and 20th of August.
While passing the sentence, the Magistrate said that Khan pleaded guilty and did not waste the court's time and the fact that he paid back the money counts in his favor. Magistrate Khan also took into account the claim by the 22 year old that his grandfather had promised to give the money to him.
Magistrate Khan gave Khan a chance and said he will allow him to continue his studies in Melbourne and will not ruin his future with a criminal conviction which will not allow him to leave the country.
Khan has been put on a good behaviour bond for 12 months and told to pay $100 as prosecution costs and told never to appear in court again.
