A 47 year old unemployed man of Rakiraki is still in police custody for allegedly committing an unnatural offence on a class one student at their settlement late last week.

The man who was charged with one count of sodomy was supposed to appear in the Rakiraki court today, however there was no court seating held.

The victim was playing with one of his friends and the suspect at the man's room when the alleged incident took place. The man left the victim's friend outside the house before committing the offence.

The suspect’s sister-in-law, who lives in the same house felt suspicious, went to check the suspect’s room and saw the man allegedly sodomizing the child.

Police have urged the parents and guardians to closely supervise their children.
