Strong wind warning in force
The Nadi weather forecasters said a tropical depression over Northern Lau is moving east southeast and expected to lie to the east of the country tonight.
Associated trough of low pressure with cloud and rain affects the group.
NaDraki weather forecaster Neville Koop said this morning a tropical depression moved across the Yasawa’s and northern Viti Levu which brought some damages such as power outages in Savusavu.
However, Koop said this current system is not likely to develop into a tropical cyclone as it is expected to move away by later tonight.
However, Koop said people should take precaution.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji Group, strong westerly winds with speeds 40km/hr to 50km/hr gusting to 80km/hr over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Northern Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

Elsewhere, moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.

Meanwhile, the tropical depression that was earlier approaching Fiji has moved to the south of Tonga
