Strong winds have started battering islands in the Yasawa group as Hurricane Daman approaches.
Speaking to Village news via Radio Telephone from Oarsman Bay resort in Yasawa, an employee said they are ready for the worst at this stage.
Meanwhile, Maravu Island Resort in Taveuni which lies in the path of Hurricane Daman is bracing itself for the worst.
Speaking to Village one of the worker's Laite confirms that most workers will be sent home early once all precautionary measures have been put in place.
However, one of the guests at the hotel, Peter from Australia said they will not leave the resort and have enough the necessities to see them through.
