The President of the Fiji Law Society Isireli Fa said a strong economy can lead to the drop in the crime rate.
Speaking at the launch of the Central District Crime prevention awareness programme, Fa said research from all over the world has revealed a connection between crime and poverty.
He said the Church also plays an important role by fulfilling their spiritual roles, especially to repeat offenders.
