Officers from the Strike Back team based in Nabua have been called in to assist in arresting the two men who were involved in the daylight robbery at the Lokia Shopping Centre in Nausori yesterday.

Divisional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Arthur White confirmed that a total of $82,000 was stolen however they have managed to recover $29,000 cash from a suspect who was arrested at the scene by employees of the Lokia Shopping Centre.

Police have managed to establish that the vehicle involved in the robbery was stolen from Samabula on Sunday night.

Employees gave chase and hit the getaway vehicle at a roundabout in Nausori however the two robbers managed to flee with the bag containing $53,000 cash.

Police are following some leads and arrests are expected to be made soon.

The money was the weekend's taking from the company's Nausori and Suva supermarkets.
