A 26 year old man charged with three counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and driving without a license appeared in a special court sitting this morning.

It is alleged that last Thursday, Malakai Tikomai-igiladi lost control of his vehicle and hit a 36 year old woman who was walking with her eight year old child along Wairuku road Rakiraki.

He appeared in Tavua Court before Magistrate Koya and was released on cash bail of $1500 with strict bail conditions, that he is to report to Lautoka Police Station everyday from 8am to 6pm, surrender all his travelling documents, not to drive any motor vehicle, not to renew his driving license with Land Transport Authority and imposed a curfew on him from 6pm to 6am.

No plea was taken today.

He has also been ordered not to interfere with witnesses and not to commit any other offence.

The case has been adjourned to 26th January.
