South Africa and the Stormers have received positive news on the injury affecting Duane Vermeulen, after he consulted a neurosurgeon yesterday.
Number eight Vermeulen suffered an intense pain in his neck after last Friday’s captain’s run.
However, the Springbok back‑row star consulted a neurosurgeon yesterday and the result was positive ahead of the upcoming Super Rugby playoffs.
The Stormers are set to host either a semifinal in the coming weeks.
The teams that have qualified for the playoffs are the Hurricanes, the Waratahs, the Stormers, the Chiefs, the Highlanders and the Brumbies.
In the final round of matches this week, the Blues will host the Highlanders at 7.35pm Friday while the Rebels will take on the Force at 9.40pm.
On Saturday the Brumbies will host the Crusaders at 5.30pm, the Chiefs will take on the Hurricanes at 7.35pm while the Waratahs will face the Reds at 9.40pm.
On Sunday the Bulls will take on the Cheetahs at 3.05am while the Sharks will face the Stormers at 5.10am.
