Stormers captain ruled out

Stormers captain Schalk Burger has been ruled out of Saturday's final Super Rugby warm up match against the Boland Cavaliers at the Cape Town Stadium.

Loose forward Burger missed the weekend's friendly against the Cheetahs as a result of calf tightness, but it has since transpired that he has strained a muscle and could find himself on the sidelines for the next fortnight.

The injuries will rule him out for the Stormers opening Super Rugby fixture against the Bulls.

Meanwhile, only two matches will be played in the opening round of the 2013 Super rugby season.

The Rebels will play Force at 8.40pm next Friday and the Brumbies will take on the Reds at 8.40pm Saturday.
