Nadi Weather Office Director, Rajendra Prasad is concerned over the recent reports that people are blaming the weather office for not issuing the warnings early about Tropical Cyclone Gene approaching the Fiji group.
Prasad clarifies that a strong wind warning was issued on Sunday and the tropical depression rapidly developed into a cyclone on Monday.
He also said people should not be complacent about the warnings issued and take personal responsibility.
