Stop sexual violence against women and children.
These were the thoughts of many who participated in “Reclaim the Night” yesterday evening as they took the streets of Suva in a March organized by the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre.
One of the leading women's organization, Fiji Women Crisis Centre Deputy coordinator Edwina Kotoisuva said women have the right to safer streets.
Fiji Women's Right Movement Director Virisila Buadromo has urged people not to turn a blind eye if violence is perpetrated.
However, she added that more needs to be done.
While many men may avoid speaking and participating in such marches, at least one believed that violence against women and children should stop.
