Society should stop blaming and shaming young girls who get pregnant.
Peni Moore the Creativity director for Women's Action for Change said that stigma from within society on teenage pregnancy is the main reason why many young mothers kill their babies.
However, Moore adds that young girls need to practice safe sex and if they do end up pregnant they need to seek support and advise from support groups, elders, friends, family and organizations like WAC before taking that step of abandoning and killing their child.
This follows a report by Police in Sigatoka where they are carrying investigations on the discovery of a fully formed baby boy whose body was found inside a toilet in Sigatoka Town.
Police have still not been able to locate the whereabouts of the mother of the baby boy.
