A Suva lawyer said the NCBBF's Head of Technical and Support Secretariat John Samy’s service is no longer required by Fiji.
Rajendra Chaudhry said now that the draft Charter is ready, the interim government should stop paying a hefty salary to John Samy.
Chaudhry said Samy does not deserve the $12,000 a month paid to him.
He also added that the extension of the Charter consultations is a clear sign that majority of people do not want the charter.
Ousted Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes reiterated Samy should get a reduction in pay.
John Samy is expected to comment later.
