Police have urged members of the public to refrain from buying stolen items.
Director Operation SSP Waisea Tabakau's comments comes after calls made by Lami Residents to clamp down on the spate of robberies in the Lami area and take action against the shops receiving and selling stolen items.
SSP Tabakau said buying or selling stolen items is a serious offense and those found committing the act will be seriously dealt with.
A Lecturer at USP, Kenneth Chambers claimed yesterday that his family has been robbed twice and one of the stolen items, his personal Laptop which contained very important files was found in a shop in Suva which he had to buy back for $900.
