Stick To Judgment And Pay COLA
Speaking to Fijivillage, General Secretary of the Union Pramod Rae said they have their side of the promise and adds the Fund is legally bound to pay their members.
Rae said this COLA demand is for the union members for the years 2005 and 2006, to which the Fund was told to pay up.
The Industrial disputes committee gave the order for FNPF to pay out the 5% COLA within 30 days, which the Fund had deferred as they had a few issues to iron out before any money exchanged hands.
Meanwhile, FNPF Chief Executive Aisake Taito had earlier said the Board has made its stand clear to the Union and their members that the Board is ready to listen to the Union and make some concessions as well.
However, Rae confirms that they have referred the matter of a 4% - 6 % increment on performance based pay to arbitration.
