The Health Ministry has called on people to stay alert as they are still trying to control the dengue outbreak.

National Advisor Dr Eric Rafai said their cleanup and spraying campaign to control mosquitoes is still underway.

People have been urged to keep their compounds clean and to destroy all mosquito breeding places like old tires, pot plants, blocked drains, old tins and bottles.

He added over 1000 cases of dengue fever were reported in the last three weeks at health centers and hospitals around the country and they are still collecting data from the weekend.

Dr Rafai said the number of dengue cases is increasing.
