A state of drought emergency will not be declared for areas experiencing dry spell as yet as the situation is not as bad as initially thought.
As on the ground assessments and assistance continues, Director DISMAC Pajiliai Dobui said continuous situation reports are being collated and indications are that a drought emergency will not be declared for at least a few more weeks.
The Ministry of Provincial Development has also stressed that they have the adequate funding to ensure water is carted to the worst affected areas.
