A state of Public Health Emergency has been declared in Navosa by the Health Ministry as over 100 cases of typhoid have been recorded in the area.
Speaking at a press conference in the last hour, Deputy Secretary for Public Health Dr. Joe Koroivueta revealed that a task force has been dispatched to the area to contain the spread of typhoid as the numbers are increasing.
Dr. Koroivueta said all efforts are being made to ensure that there are no fatalities and those who are infected are treated as soon as possible.
