Lawyers representing the state have questioned the motives behind the Fiji Law Society's attempt to intervene in the case of Pacific Centre for Public Integrity (PCPI) director Angie Heffernan, which was denied by high court judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday.

Lawyer Adish Narayan revealed earlier that the Law Society's attempt to intervene in the case was dismissed because their lawyer could not explain why they wanted to intervene. He said they are surprised by the move and questioned the motives of the Law Society.
