The Land Transport Authority's Standard Compliance team is currently working against the clock to complete the checks of all buses in the country as they are short staffed.

LTA spokesperson, Eroni Volavola said they have a team of only 5 people who are in charge of all the safety checks, and at the moment the team is in the North.

A consolidated report is expected to be released every 6 months however Volavola adds that the team is currently in the North and then will move to the West before the Central Division is done.

Volavola added though checks are being carried out throughout the whole year, a consolidated report can only be done once the team is free. Bus safety checks are supposed to happen every 6 months with the last report submitted in January.
