The Nadroga Rugby Union has sent a proposal to the Fiji Sports Council in relation to their charges at Lawaqa Park and are awaiting a reply.

Nadroga rugby spokesperson Tiko Matawalu confirms that they are asking the Sports Council to reduce their rate.

The council takes 25% of the gate takings.

Earlier today the Fiji Sports Council said that their main source of income is through gate takings and they are also just there to manage government property.

The council also said that they have a standard rate and it cannot be reduced.

Meanwhile, the venue for this week’s Farebrother Sullivan Cup challenge match between Nadroga and Northland is yet to be confirmed as the Nadroga Rugby Union is still trying to finalize the venue.

The Fiji Rugby Union has refused to comment.
