Colonial Cup defending champions, the Stallions won their first game against the Highlanders on home-ground last night by 15-12.

The Stallions who have never won their first match in the Colonial Cup since 2004, broke the jinx last night and held down the strong defence from the Highlanders.

Stallions coach Joji Rinakama said although he is happy with the win he is not satisfied by the effort put in by his players.

Rinakama admits they committed alot of mistakes and could have scored more tries but just took wrong options and said thay hope to work on their basic skills, high balls and restarts as they prepare for thier next game.
