Almost a year since being laid off or put on reduced hours, many workers in the tourism industry can expect a bleak festive season with stakeholders bracing themselves for what is expected to be one of the slowest periods for Fiji's tourism industry.
Fiji Hoteliers Association President Dixon Seeto said, as we head into the usually slump period for the industry in November and December, hotel workers remain severely affected.
Meanwhile, as hotels and resorts around the country continue to report low occupancy levels despite huge discounts on offer, it has been confirmed that there are operators who have not been affected by the events of December 5th last year.
However, Fiji Hoteliers Association President Dixon Seeto stresses that these are only a small percentage of operators.
