Tourism Stakeholders are currently gearing up to try and fill over 10,000 hotel and resort rooms available, and are currently preparing for the peak tourism period in early 2009.
Fiji Visitors Bureau Chairman Patrick Wong said there are challenges for the existing operators as they also expect an increase of around 3 percent in the number of hotel rooms which will be available by next year through various developments currently underway in the sector.
Wong also revealed to Fijivillage that the existing major hotel and resort chains are exploring options to expand to the Northern division with the new tax holiday and tax incentives on offer.
