Stakeholders in the Fishing industry are breathing a sigh of relief after the confusion over the 3 percent export duty to be imposed on unprocessed fish from next year was resolved.
Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA) CEO Jitoko Tikolevu confirmed that they met with the local fishing operators as they were concerned about its impact on their operations.
Fiji Fish Boss Graheam Southwick said local fishing operators are now fully aware of the reasons why the new duty will be introduced and local companies will be exempted.
