Fiji needs a stable partnership between Government, the civil service and employers in order for the country to weather the economic downturn facing everyone.
PM Commodore Frank Bainimarama addressing guests and students at the Training Productivity Awards said the Productivity Report for 1999 to 2006 showed a huge deficit in the balance of payments and this was a worry for Government.
Bainimarama also revealed that he is awaiting a cabinet decision on the set-up of a tribunal to address issues regarding workers and remuneration packages.
Meanwhile, the TPAF Award for Productivity Champions was given to two Vodafone Fiji Staff members, Nirul Nihaar and Mosheen Khan who had invented the online customer chat and a systems analysis for the company.
