The Lautoka Central College boys side created the first upset in the secondary school’s hockey tournament in Lautoka today after beating Suva Grammar School 2-1.

Grammar played their second game against defending champions Marist Brothers High School but they failed to win that match with the score locked at nil all.

In other results from the boys division, Delana Methodist beat Natabua High school 1-0.

Meanwhile, defending secondary schools hockey girls under 19 champions Saint Josephs Secondary kicked off their title defense with a winning start.

Saint Josephs defeated Saint John’s College from Ovalau 2-0 this morning.

Captain Tessa Harmon said they just need to communicate well on the field because that didn’t happen against Saint John’s.

Saint Josephs will play Saint Thomas High and Lelean Memorial School later today.

In other results, Lelean beat St John’s College 2-1 in the girls under 19 while Levuka Public beat Cathedral 1-0 and St Thomas defeated Swami Vivekananda College 1-0.
