All Black Liam Squire returns to the Highlanders starting lineup with Luke Whitelock switched to lock for the quarterfinal showdown against the Brumbies tomorrow night.
Squire has impressed this season in between his injury problems but Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph has also been a vocal fan of Whitelock with the Cantabrian preferred at No.8 in recent times.
Whitelock's move into the second row allows the two traditional loose forwards to be included in the starting lineup.
Joseph has also named Waisake Naholo and Patrick Orsborne in his starting line-up.
Meanwhile the Brumbies expect the Highlanders to target David Pocock as he makes his return from injury.
Pocock has not played since fracturing his eye socket six weeks ago in the Wallabies first Test against England.
Playmaker Matt Toomua knows Pocock's presence will be a massive boost for the Brumbies, who need to lift their game after two less‑than‑impressive performances against lowly teams.
The Brumbies will host the Highlanders at 8.05pm tomorrow.
In other quarters, the Hurricanes play the Sharks at 7.35pm this Saturday, the Stormers will face the Chiefs at 5am Sunday while the Lions will host the Crusaders at 2.30am.
