A questionnaire is expected to be finalised by next week for the start of the socio-economic survey that is to be conducted by the Ministry of Housing along with the help of the Ecumenical Centre for Research Education and Advocacy to analyse the amount of assistance to be given to people living in squatter settlements.
Father Kevin Barr of ECREA said the survey will also determine how many families could be relocated.
This follows criticisms by the Suva City Council that the Interim Government has not been able to address the squatter issue in the Capital as they have not been able to carry out major development works.
The Interim minister for Social Welfare, Adi Lau'Fitu Malani revealed earlier this week that they are waiting for the results from the National Census to be able to determine their next course of action.
