Residents of Muanivatu Squatter settlement will know more about their future after the full Suva City Council meeting which is expected to take place next month.

Council Spokesperson Gillian Hicks said the deadline to vacate the land still stands for the end of October.

However, a representative from ECREA Semiti Qalowasa, the organization looking after the residents said government is still in talks about finding a suitable piece of land to resettle the residents.

A meeting is expected to take place between ECREA and the Director for Local Government to establish if a piece of land has been found.
