Residents living at the Muanivatu settlement will know their fate by the end of next week whether they have been given an extension by the Suva City Council to relocate.

SCC Media Liaison Officer Jillian Hicks adds the Council will have to make a collective decision and the residents will have to wait for an indication next week until the Council sits.

Over 76 families have asked for more time to relocate since they were given until the end of this month to clear out.

They had been served with eviction notices and have requested the State for assistance to help them relocate.
