Residents of the Muanivatu Squatter Settlement in Vatuwaqa will not have to move just yet despite the fact their eviction deadline ended on the 30th of November.

Suva City Council spokesperson Jillian Hicks told Fijivillage that a special meeting will be held between various stakeholders from the NLTB, Lands and Housing Department and ECREA to decide on what the next move will be for those staying at the settlement.

Hicks said this is after the municipal councils decided to try and develop proper, attractive and affordable housing sites under the guidance of the Fiji Local Government Association.

The date of the meeting is yet to be decided.
