The resettlement for residents of Kilikali Squatter settlement is going according to plans.

This has been revealed by the Ministry of Housing and Squatters who said that the resettlement plan is in its final stages with a final meeting being held today to finalize matters.

Residents were handed eviction notices before Christmas last year and were given until the 15th of this month to move out.

According to the Ministry, 3 families have qualified to be moved to Waila Housing flats, 3 agreeing to move back to their villages and a few to be moved to the HART housing in New Town.

However, they have also added that the meeting this morning will decide the action to be taken for the remaining families that have not qualified to be moved to HART or to Waila housing.
