As 160 squatter families living in the Tacirua East subdivision who are mainly from the Melanesian community have been issued notices to clear the site, a 60 year old Namara resident Solomoni Sina has made a plea to the Interim Prime Minister.
Sina said their forefathers stayed in Namara settlement after they arrived in Fiji to work as labourers during the Colonial era.
He said they would rather opt to go back to the Solomons if they are told to move out.
The Housing Authority will develop the site and arrangements are made to relocate these families to Sasawira or Waila 3B, and they have been promised that they will return to the site after the development works.
