Discussions are underway regarding better housing for people who live in squatter settlements along the Suva-Nausori corridor.
Suva Lord Mayor Ratu Peni Volavola said the issue of squatter settlements cannot be tackled alone.
He added government and non-government agencies are willing to help.
In a press statement released, Volavola said we should not forget that those who shelter in squatter settlements are also humans and they deserve to live in proper houses.
The Suva City Lord Mayor said proper housing should come in hand with good sanitation and having access to basic water and road facilities.
