Natabua High School's senior boys sprinter Alfred Smith has set his sight on breaking the 15-year-old record in the Senior Boys 100 meters event in next week's Coca Cola Light Games.

The old record stands at 10.74 seconds set by former Queen Victoria school student Viliame Lalabalavu in 1993 and Smith believes he can break that record.

Smith, a Fiji 7s team trialist, is expected to go head-to-head with Marist Brothers High School sprinter Iowane Dovumatua in the final barring any upsets in the heats.

Speaking to Fijivillage Smith said Dovumatua is not the only threat to him.
