Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer expects Highlanders flyhalf Lima Sopoaga to be listed in the All Blacks’ starting line‑up for the test in Johannesburg this Sunday.
With Dan Carter instructed to stay in New Zealand, Beauden Barrett, Colin Slade and Sopoaga were chosen as the three first‑fives for the 31‑man travelling squad to South Africa.
If Sopoaga starts this weekend he may have Highlanders team‑mate Aaron Smith inside him and Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith in the midfield.
The Springboks will host the All Blacks at 3.05am Sunday while the Wallabies will take on Argentina at 10.40am.
