The Springboks sevens team will be without three of their star players for the New Zealand and Las Vegas sevens.

Captain Kyle Brown, playmaker Cecil Afrika and half back Branco du Preez will miss the next leg of the world sevens series due to injury.

Coach Paul Treu has called up two 19-year-olds who both recently signed two year contracts with the South African rugby union to play for the Springboks Sevens.

This means the side will have three 19-year-olds which includes the speedy Cheslin Kolbe.

South Africa will still have experienced players in the side with the likes of Frankie Horne, Cornal Hendriks, Paul Delport and Chris Dry.

South Africa is pooled with Wales, Samoa and Canada.

Meanwhile, the final 12 member Digicel Fiji sevens team will be named tomorrow before they fly out next Monday.

The New Zealand Sevens kick off in Wellington next Friday with Fiji taking on Scotland at 1.50pm in its first pool match.

Fiji then takes on Australia at 4.46pm and the last pool match is against Portugal at 8.34pm.
