New Springbok sevens Coach Neil Powell has selected an experienced side for Gold Coast this weekend.
Halfback Branco du Preez has not been considered due to injury but veteran Frankie Horne is set to play in his 51st World Series event and captain Kyle Brown in his 34th tournament.
The team includes the crafty Cecil Africa, Cornal Hendriks, Chris Dry and Steven Hunt.
South Africa is pooled with England, France and Spain.
The Gold Cost 7s kicks at 11.30am Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Digicel Fiji 7s team will leave tonight and will play its first match of the Gold Coast 7s against Canada at 12.58pm on Saturday.
Fiji’s second match is against Portugal at 4.14pm and the last pool match will be against Wales at 8.24pm.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 12.58pm on Sunday, Cup semis kicks off at 4.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 8.04pm.
