The Fiji Sports Council has today stood by its decision to revise the percentage share rates for the Coke Light Games stressing that the 50/50 split was a commercial decision and one which the board was obliged to make as part of its duties.

This decision has also ensured that the council got its fare share for providing its facilities.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Sports Council has also called on the organizers of the Coke Light Games to make public the dollar value of sponsorship that it receives from Coca Cola and how it utilizes the funds.

The council has a simple message in reviewing its rates and that was it had to move with the times and become commercially oriented as it did not receive any subsidies from either the government or any other corporate entities.

Meanwhile, Coke-Light games organizer Vuli Waqa said that they will meet again with the Fiji Sports Council Board tomorrow.
