The split highlighted by the four provinces from the total 14 provinces in the country that have shown their support to the People's Charter, should be an indicator to the interim administration.
Speaking to Village News, Pacific Concerned Resources Centre Director Tupou Vere highlights that the split within the provinces is a reminder of the current state the country is in.
Cakaudrove, Macuata, Serua and Lau provincial council members have shown their support for the Charter.
Meanwhile, the province of Naitasiri, Lomaiviti and Rewa have rejected the proposed People's Charter based on the grounds that it wants to create a non-racial Fiji.
Two of the country's biggest provinces, Tailevu and Ba, are split on whether they support or are against the Charter, as some members have shown their support while other members are against it.
The province of Bua, Namosi and Nadroga/Navosa are yet to give their views on the People's Charter.
