Wallabies and Brumbies winger Henry Speight will miss the rest of the Super Rugby and the first two Rugby Championship test matches after being suspended for five weeks.

Sanzar announced the penalty last night after earlier finding that Speight is guilty of a dangerous lifting tackle on the Stormers centre in his side's Super Rugby qualifying final win in Cape Town on Saturday.

He has been ruled out of the Brumbies' Super Rugby semifinal against the Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday and the final the following week if they win.

Speight will also sit out the opening Rugby Championship tests against South Africa and Argentina.

He earned a two‑week discount for a previously unblemished disciplinary record over his career.

Brumbies prop Scott Sio says they will miss Speight in both attack and defence this weekend.

The Hurricanes will host the Brumbies at 7.35pm while the Waratahs will host the Highlanders at 9.40pm Saturday.
