Henry Speight has been dropped from the Australian 7s team for the Cape Town tournament this weekend.
This comes after the Wallaby wing made his international 7s debut for Australian in the Dubai 7s last weekend.
Speight received a yellow card in his first match and then also scored his first try.
He will juggle both Super Rugby and sevens duties next year as he eyes a spot in the Australian squad for the Olympic Games.
The 27-year-old is being eased into sevens action as he learns the game and it remains unclear how many games he will be able to play for the Brumbies next year.
Boyd Killing-worth, Henry Hutchison and Greg Jeloudev are the three new players that have been named in the Australian Sevens team.
Australia is pooled with USA, Wales and Portugal in the Cape Town 7s.
